NEWSLETTER - JAN 09

2009 brings simplicity, quality and more value

A word from Derek...   2008 was a roller-coaster year for the restaurant industry due to the financial crash amongst other major events.  Dining became a luxury that many kept for special occasions only.  Alchemy 'came to the party' by offering greater value to our customers with BYO wine available daily, an outstanding steak menu and casual breakfast and lunch on Saturday.  We are approaching our 4th year in Mosman and will continue to adjust and invent to provide you with a dining experience that ticks all the boxes.

Food and Wine Club    The Alchemy Food and Wine club has been running for one year with many successful events held for members.  From January 09, membership will incur an annual fee of $50 so that we may continue to bring you interesting and educational events, alongside offers to offset this fee.  If you are an existing member, you will be invoiced for the member fee.

Did you know that members do not pay corkage for BYO wine?  Joining is simple.  Register online or in the restaurant and you will receive your VIP keyring with bi-monthly newsletters and invitations to attend our no-cost member events.   To join:  http://www.alchemy731.com.au//gold-food-wine-club.htm

EVENTS IN SPOTLIGHT

BURNS NIGHT SUPPER, Thursday 22nd January

5 courses with beverages to match, $140pp.  Arrival at 7pm.

The Burns supper is an institution of Scottish life to commemorate the birth on January 25th 1759 of Robert Burns; poet, balladeer and one of Scotland's favourite sons.  This is the 250th year of Robert Burns' birthday commemorations.  Celebrations include Haggis with neeps and tatties to be served as a side dish and the main course will be roasted rump of beef.  A Bag piper will be playing throughout the evening and the ode to the haggis will be performed by Scotsman Ian Black.  As in previous years, a great time is had by all and everybody leaves with full stomachs and rosy red cheeks.

FOOD & WINE TRIVIA NIGHT, Tuesday 19th May

4 courses including wines, $100pp.  Arrival at 7pm.  Special celebrity host!

A fun get together with friends at an interactive evening of ‘virtual trivia' and not so easy questions to test the ‘foodie' within us all.  Be sure to study your Larousse beforehand!

ENVIRONMENTAL NOTE: If you would like to help us to reduce the use of paper, please email us so we may send future bi-monthly newsletters by email, rather than post.  alchemy3@bigpond.net.au
